Italian Formula 4 will race exclusively in Italy next year for the first time since the 2017 season.
The championship was launched in 2014 with a schedule that was supposed to include Spanish circuit Barcelona, but it was replaced by a trip to Imola that ensured an all-Italian calendar. Racing remained on home soil for the next three seasons.
Paul Ricard in France was visited in 2018, then Hungary’s Hungaroring and Austria’s Red Bull Ring were on the calendar for the next two years but the COVID-19 pandemic meant the round at the Hungaroring in 2020 was cancelled.
The Red Bull Ring remained a venue in the championship through to 2022, with Paul Ricard returning for 2021, ’23 and ’24.
Belgian circuit Spa-Francorchamps was raced on in 2022 and 2023, and the paddock finally visited Barcelona last year. For 2025 it was the only overseas venue to host a round.
Next season will begin at Misano (May 8-10), then head to Vallelunga (May 22-24). Monza, which will be Italy’s sole Formula 1 track next year as the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola is dropped from the world championship, hosts round three (June 19-21).
There are big breaks between the next rounds at Mugello (July 24-26) and Imola (September 4-6), then the season concludes with return trips to Misano (September 18-20) and Mugello (October 23-25).
The sister E4 championship also organised by Italy’s motorsport federation will retain its three-round format for 2026, with its races taking place at Vallelunga (July 3-5), Paul Ricard (July 17-19) and Monza (October 9-11).
Vallelunga replaces Mugello, which has featured in the three seasons held to date.
