The 2026 Indy Nxt calendar has been published, revealing a 17-race season which will have a heavily revised order of events and a new race on the streets of Arlington.

There are three more races in total than in 2025, an expansion made possible despite losing the Iowa Speedway oval from the schedule by having five double-header rounds compared to two this year.

St. Petersrburg’s airport and streets will as tradition host the opening round, with 2026’s first race taking place on March 1.

Two weeks later the field will head to Arlington’s brand new street circuit which will be hosting its inaugural race event. As with all other events, Indy Nxt will be on the undercard of an IndyCar race.

The month ends with a double-header at Barber Motorsports Park, the first road course of the season, then there is a break before the ‘Month of May’ leg.

For the drivers in North American single-seaters’ second tier, that consists of a double-header on Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s road course on the first weekend then a race on the streets of Detroit on the final day of the month.

The season’s first oval race is now a week earlier than in 2025, with the paddock racing at Gateway on June 7.

The next two rounds on road courses at Road America (June 19-21) and Mid-Ohio (July 3-5) have been expanded to be double-headers, and Nashville Superspeedway concedes its season finale slot after two years to be raced at on July 19.

After a brief summer break, action continues on two road courses and an oval. Indy Nxt races in the far west at Portland on August 9, then the paddock heads to the east to race around the Milwaukee Mile on August 30, before a tight turnaround to get to the USA’s west coast and then head south down the coastline to California for a season-ending double-header at Laguna Seca on September 4-6.
