There will be 21 drivers taking part in Indy Nxt’s post-season Chris Griffis Memorial Test on Friday.

Eight of the names that will be driving around Indianopilis Motor Speedway’s road course have already penned deals to race in Indy Nxt for 2024 with Andretti Global and HMD Motorsports, and the latter also announced a further five drivers that it would be running in the test.

In addition to that group of 13, there are two-car line-ups for Abel Motorsports, Cape Motorsports and Juncos Hollinger Racing, while Jack William Miller will be driving for the Miller Vinatieri Motorsports team co-owned by his father Jack Miller, who raced in IndyCar from 1996 to 2001.

Miller Jr has been racing for MVM since 2018, and has spent the past three seasons in USF Pro 2000. In that time he has claimed three poles and four podiums.

Jacob Abel will be testing for his family’s Abel Motorsports team, as will Jonathan Browne.

The Abels stepped up to Indy Nxt together in 2022 and as a two-car team (expanding to three late in the 2023 season). In the driving seat, Abel has picked up four podiums and a pole from his two campaigns. Browne came eighth in his sophomore USFP2000 season this year.

Cape is running USFP2000 podium-finisher Jace Denmark and Callum Hedge, who same second in Formula Regional Oceania at the start of 2023 and is on course to win the FRegional Americas title, and Juncos has entered Lindsay Brewer and Antonio Serravalle.

Brewer came 15th in USFP2000 as a part-timer in 2022 and only 18th in the standings this year as a full-time driver, while Serravalle raced in Indy Nxt through 2021 and ’22 with three sixth places being his best finishes. This year he has raced LMP3 class prototype sportscars.
