Hector Hurst took his first F3 Open pole in qualiftying two at Portimao, narrowly beating Ed Jones, Santiago Urrutia and Alexandre Cougnaud.
BVM’s Mario Marasca took fifth ahead of series leader Sandy Stuvik. Yarin Stern took seventh ahead of the top-placed Campos car of Valeria Carballo, while Alexey Chuklin and Andres Saravia rounded out the top ten.
Richard Gonda was the top car in Copa F308. Championship contenders Alex Toril and Nelson Mason collided and therefore did not manage to set a time.
