Jeremy Fairbairn has announced he has left Kevin Mills Racing after three rounds of the 2023 GB4 season.

The 18-year-old American made the perfect start to his campaign by holding off team-mate Tom Mills to win the season-opening race at Oulton Park. He has not added any further podiums since and has slipped to fifth in the standings, while Mills has won five of the last eight races.

Fairbairn raced for KMR at last year’s Formula Ford Festival, finishing ninth in the final. He was also sixth in USF Juniors in 2022 and raced part-time in US F4 in 2020.

“Through much discussion with my advisors, I have come to the conclusion that we needed to make a team change for the remainder of our GB4 Championship season,” Fairbairn announced on social media.

“I am 100% focused off the track to make sure I am prepared to compete at my best, and that hasn’t translated to results. I am not blaming, just taking responsibility and moving forward. I wish Tom, Kevin and everyone at KMR Sport the very best.

“I will make another announcement in the coming week, but before rumours start to fly, I thought I’d get ahead of it. I am so appreciative of the people around me, and especially my sponsors who are right beside me the whole way. Thank you!”
