Prema’s Gabriele Mini was fastest on the first day of ADAC Formula 4’s in-season test at Zandvoort.

The single-seater rookie set the pace in the afternoon session, pipping morning leader Elias Seppanen by 0.049 seconds.

The US Racing driver was almost a quarter of a second up on Mini in the morning, with his team-mate Tim Tramnitz the only other driver remotely near the pace.

All 15 cars on the entry list made it out on track in the morning, with R-ace GP’s Victor Bernier absent from the second session and his team-mate Kirill Smal only setting a small number of laps before bringing out a session-ending red flag.

The times in the afternoon were not closer, with the third US Racing car of Vladislav Lomko less than a tenth off Mini.

Prema’s Dino Beganovic improved significantly on his morning time to go fourth fastest ahead of Tramnitz, both within two tenths of a second of Mini. Tramnitz and R-ace GP’s Artem Lobanenko both clocked up over 100 laps over the day.

Italian F4 drivers Leonardo Fornaroli (Iron Lynx) and Hamda Al Qubaisi (in a Prema-supported Abu Dhabi Racing entry) were also part of the test.
