G4 Racing has signed French Formula 4 race-winner Romain Andriolo for the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship.

The 17-year-old Frenchman has spent two seasons in his home country’s F4 series. He won on the streets of Pau and got two other podiums as a rookie, which put him 10th in the points table, then this year he took just one win again but seven other podiums helped him rise to fourth in the standings.

“I am super honoured and happy to be able to do the FREC 2024 [season] with G4 Racing. This is an excellent opportunity for me,” said Andriolo. “I’m ready to take on this challenge with determination, confidence, and work. A big thank you to my parents, my partners and sponsors.”

Adrian Munoz, G4’s sporting and technical manager, commented: “The French F4 championship continues to discover new talents season after season, with great future potential. Romain showed during 2023 a good progression and evolution, and we firmly believe he will adapt quickly to FREC, without underestimating the challenge in one of the most competitive single-seater championships.”

G4 went from finishing 12th and last in FREC’s 2022 teams’ standings with zero points to coming fifth in the standings this year with three wins and 134 points. In 2021 the Swiss-registered team had also tasted success, winning two races and scoring 116 points.

Andriolo is G4’s first signing for 2024, and the second French F4 graduate to confirm their place on the FREC grid as championship runner-up Enzo Peugeot will be making the step up with Sainteloc Racing.
