Fortec expands British F4 effort for Thruxton with GB4 duo

Fortec Motorsports has expanded its British Formula 4 squad from one car to three ahead of round four at Thruxton.

Both new additions, Ary Bansal and Thomas Ingram-Hill, have already been competing in GB4 this year.

Indian driver Bansal has been racing with rival team Elite Motorsport in GB4 and sits fourth in the standings after three rounds, having taken a win during the opening event at Donington Park.

He previously raced in a round of Spanish F4 at the end of last year with Rodin Motorsport and then in the Formula Trophy in the United Arab Emirates with Xcel Motorsport.

Former Ginetta Junior competitor Ingram-Hill has been driving with Fortec in GB4 and lies 15th in the championship with a best finish of sixth.

Beyond Thruxton, Bansal is confirmed for the following round at Oulton Park with further outings planned, while Ingram-Hill is set to follow his home event at Thruxton with appearances in both Silverstone events, plus Donington and Zandvoort.

“It’s always great to be in the car more, and tackling both GB4 and British F4 on some of the same circuits will really accelerate my learning,” Ingram-Hill said.

“As a Thruxton local, I’m familiar with the track from testing, so I’m ready to attack it. Everyone in the field has experience, so I know I’ll learn a lot and we’ll do everything we can to make progress each weekend.”

They will race alongside Henry Joslyn, who has been Fortec’s sole entry until now and claimed a double pole position in the first round at Donington and two podium finishes last time out at Snetterton.
