Elite Motorsport’s Finn Harrison took his second GB4 victory ahead of his team-mate Alisha Palmowski in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch.
Harrison climbed from fifth to first on the opening lap of the reversed-grid contest, while second for Palmowski enabled her to edge KMR Sport’s Harry Burgoyne Jr to runner-up spot in the standings by one point.
There was drama before the race got underway, with KMR’s Lucas Blakeley spinning out on the formation lap, resulting in a delayed start.
Dan Hickey eventually led away from reversed-grid pole, but his Fortec Motorsports team-mate Jack Taylor was slow away from the outside of the front row and was shuffled down the order.
Graham Brunton Racing’s Callum Baxter made the best getaway from third to challenge Hickey through Paddock Hill Bend and Druids before snatching the lead into Graham Hill Bend.
Harrison immediately moved past Hickey into second, and took the lead before the first lap was completed when Baxter ran wide at the final corner and slipped to third behind Hickey.
Palmowski initially moved up to fourth before losing out to Burgyone and Taylor on the opening lap, but she then prevailed in three-wide battle with the pair into Druids on lap two, with Taylor spinning out and Burgyoyne suffering front-wing damage.
That resulted in the appearance of the safety car, with Harrison pulling away following the resumption while Palmowski immediately passed Baxter before then taking second away from Hickey, who ran wide and spun in the process.
Harrison built a 2.3-second lead, and he edged further clear to win by 3.5s, while Palmowski resisted pressure from Fortec’s newly-crowned champion L:inus Granfors for second.
Fox Motorsport’s Branden Templeton was fourth ahead of Baxter, with KMR’s Chloe Grant sixth ahead of team-mate Burgoyne.
Arden’s Leon Wilson was eighth ahead Fox’s Megan Bruce and Hickey.
