Drivex School has announced that Filippo Fiorentino will remain in its ranks next year, as he takes a full-time step up to Eurocup-3.
Fiorentino is moving up the ladder from Formula 4, and rather than climbing one step to Formula Regional as he did with his two Eurocup-3 outings in 2025, he will instead be leaping to third-tier single-seaters since Eurocup-3 is adopting a new technical ruleset next year including the Dallara 326 car.
The 17-year-old was last of the classified drivers in the championship this season, having finished no higher than 20th across his four races with Drivex at Assen and Spa-Francorchamps. His main programme with the team was in F4, coming 14th in the Spanish F4 Winter Championship standings then 20th in Spanish F4’s main championship.
“Today marks exactly one year since I officially joined the Drivex team,” Fiorentino wrote on social media a week ago.
“It’s been a year full of challenges, ups and downs, moments of pressure and also learnings that I will never forget. Nothing was easy, but still, we never gave up. Together we keep pushing, growing and overcoming every obstacle with hard work, dedication and a desire to improve.”
While the first campaign with Drivex featured five points finishes and a best result of fifth, he only made the top 10 in two out of 21 races in the follow-up. He was the second-highest placed of its regular drivers though.
“2025 was intense, but it also made me see how special this team is. And now, with all that I’ve learned, I sincerely hope that 2026 will be an even better year, full of growth, results and, most of all, this spirit of togetherness that brought us here.”
At home in Brazil, Fiorentino has been racing entry-level single-seaters since 2022. Last year he came 10th in Brazilian F4, with a win and two other podiums from his four rounds, and sits second in the standings this year despite missing the season opener. In addition to his points-scoring success, he also won twice in the Formula 1-supporting non-championship round.
Having also raced in Italian F4, it means Fiorentino will only be new to four of the eight circuits on Eurocup-3’s 2026 calendar.
