The FIA Formula 3 Championship is introducing a million-euro prize fund to help its top five finishers graduate to Formula 2 for the following season.

The fund will be spread across the five drivers, with the champion to receive the highest amount of €300,000. This will be in addition to the €300,000 that tyre supplier Pirelli already offers to the F3 champion should they step up to F2, meaning the champion can receive a total of €600,000 towards their next step.

The runner-up will receive €250,000 with the driver finishing third receiving €200,000, the driver in fourth awarded €150,000 and the fifth-place finisher getting €100,000.

Each prize money amount will be awarded to the driver only if they race in F2 the next season – otherwise it will go to the next highest-placed driver.

The fund will be awarded from the 2025 season, which ended earlier this month at Monza.

Ferrari-backed Rafael Camara won this year’s championship, ahead of Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov (who has already been announced for a 2026 F2 drive), Aston Martin-connected Mari Boya, another Red Bull protege in Tim Tramnitz and McLaren junior Martinius Stenshorne, who made his F2 debut in Baku last weekend.

“I am pleased to announce this million-euro fund, which will benefit the five highest-placed F3 drivers, alongside the substantial prize offered by our partner, Pirelli, which goes to the champion,” said F2 and F3 CEO Bruno Michel.

“It is vital to support emerging talent on their road to Formula 1. F3 is a fantastic training ground for these young racers to hone their skills to move up the pyramid, and this additional financial reward will help them to go even further in their efforts towards the pinnacle of motorsport.”
