Brazilian racer Felipe Fraga will switch teams for his second year in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, leaving Tech 1 Racing for Dutch team Manor MP Motorsport in 2013.
Fraga, at 17, has one season of international-level single-seater racing behind him, with full-time campaigns in the Eurocup and Formula Renault 2.0 Alps in 2012. In the Eurocup, he was 18th with one podium, while his Alps campaign brought him another two podium finishes and ninth place overall.
“I am very happy to have signed with Manor, especially since they are essentially the satellite Marussia team, and also because they take part in series like GP2, GP3 and AutoGP”, said Fraga. “The Formula Renault Eurocup is a very tough championship, but I am sure I’ll be able to fight at the front with the support of my team. We will work hard to achieve good results and possibly fight for the title.”
Fraga is the second man to join Manor MP’s Eurocup lineup, after the Dutch team announced the signing of Oliver Rowland earlier this week.
Manor MP ran a multitude of drivers in their three cars in the 2012 season of the Eurocup, with only Jordan King staying with the team for the entire year. He was the team’s top scorer, finishing in 13th with one podium finish, as Manor MP took eighth in the teams’ standings at the end of the year.
