Chris Dittmann Racing has signed Formula 4 graduate Seb Murray to its GB3 line-up for 2024.
“I am thrilled to announce that I will be competing in the GB3 championship this coming season with CDR,” said Murray.
“The GB3 Championship is filled with amazing tracks and talent, and I am very excited for the challenge ahead. Huge thanks to CDR for the opportunity.”
The 16-year-old made his single-seater debut in the Formula 1-supporting F4 United Arab Emirates Trophy event in 2022 and came away with an eighth and a ninth place. Karting was his main focus that year, and he came ninth in the IAME UAE Series and 63rd in the IAME Euro Series for X30 Senior karts, and ninth in Rotax Max Challenge UAE’s Rotax Senior class.
For 2023 the UAE-based Scot focused entirely on F4, beginning with a full campaign in the Middle East with Italian team Cram Motorsport. He came 30th in F4 UAE, with a best finish of 13th and his best qualifying result being 24th place.
Murray looked at Europe next, but did not make a race appearance until September as he joined Scottish team Graham Brunton Racing for the last two rounds of Britain’s GB4 championship. He finished three of his six races in ninth place and came 17th in the standings.
At the start of this year he returned to F4 UAE, and this time drove for Hitech GP. A fifth place was his best result, and he was 19th in the standings thanks to two other points finishes.
CDR team owner Chris Dittmann said: “We’ve got a couple of weeks to get stuck into pre-season testing so [Seb] can familiarise himself with more of the circuits as this will be his first full season in the UK, but we’ll be pushing for a good competitive campaign together.”
