Kabir Anurag, a 16-year-old Formula 4 racer from Singapore, has been added to the Alpine Academy’s roster of drivers.
Anurag graduated from shifter karting to do six F4 tests with R-ace GP last year before making his single-seater racing debut in Italian F4’s Paul Ricard round in July with the team. He finished 26th and 17th in his first two races.
Two months later he switched allegiances to US Racing and drove for the team for the next two rounds, resulting in 41st place in the championship standings, then five post-season tests. In February of this year the German team announced Anurag would be part of its line-up for the 2024 Formula Winter Series, Euro 4 and Italian F4 seasons.
The FWinter Series campaign has already been and gone, with Anurag showed improved form compared to his 2023 outings. Two fifth places were his best results, and he also took a fastest lap en route to 14th in the standings.
“I am delighted to be joining the Alpine Academy for the 2024 season,” said Anurag.
“It is an honour to have the support and trust of Alpine Formula 1 Team and have the opportunity to work with the team’s driver development programme to progress in my career both on and off the track. I will be starting my rookie season in Italian F4 and Euro 4 this year, and I am looking forward to showing what I can do in Alpine colours.”
The Italian F4 season starts at Misano on May 3-5, while the three-round Euro 4 schedule begins at Mugello on August 24/25.
