Edward Pearson will remain at Fortec Motorsports for his second season in GB3, after coming 19th in the championship with the team this year.

The 16-year-old made the podium in the third race of the season, but only registered three further top-10 finishes before the final race of the year which he finished second in. He is Fortec’s first signing for 2024.

Pearson stepped up to GB3 from British Formula 4, where he came 12th in the standings last year with two fifth places as his best results. In 2021 he finished 17th in Ginetta Junior as a car racing rookie.

“I am happy to be running with Fortec Motorsport once again in 2024. The team and I had a good year, so we’re all going to work hard over the winter to make sure we’re fighting at the front when the season starts,” said Pearson.

“We had some good results this year, but we want to do even better and be battling for wins as we build on everything we’ve learned so far.”

Fortec’s team manager Oliver Dutton added: “We’re very happy that Edward will be racing with us in the GB3 championship once again. It was really impressive for him to finish on the podium twice in his first season of what is a tough series, and against some strong rivals.

“We’ve enjoyed working with him to fully harness his potential and are glad to be continuing that journey through the 2024 season in what will no doubt be another competitive grid of drivers.”
