Kai Daryanani, Kanato Ke and James Wharton are the latest three drivers to sign up for this year’s Macau Grand Prix, which will award the Formula Regional World Cup.
Evans GP completes its three-car line-up by signing Daryanani, who will be making his FRegional debut after two years in Formula 4.
He came 12th and 25th in the British and Emirati championships in 2024, and took a win in GB4 last year as well as coming 10th in F4 South East Asia. That included races on Macau’s Guia Circuit.
Wharton and Le will partner up at ART Grand Prix in Macau. Both are FRegional regulars and newcomers to the team, which Wharton will drive for in FIA Formula 3 next year.
They are currently second and 18th respectively in FRegional Europe, with one round of the season to go. At the start of 2024 they came sixth and 22nd in FRegional Middle East, although Le only raced part-time.
Both have experience in GB3, and were race-winners in F4.
“I’m really excited to be teaming up with ART GP for the Macau GP this year,” said Le. “Competing on such an iconic track is an incredible opportunity and I’m looking forward to giving it my all.”
In a conversation with Formula Scout earlier this year, Wharton said:
“I didn’t end up doing the F4 race [in Macau] last year because I was meant to be testing FREC, but it got cancelled at the last minute, so I was a bit disappointed last year not being able to compete in Macau. I’ve raced on street circuits in karting, but obviously it’s a very different thing. But I love street circuits, tracks that are one-off.”
