GB4 podium finisher Colin Queen will move up to GB3 with Fortec Motorsports in 2024.

The 18-year-old American was fourth in GB4 this year, visiting the podium on 10 occasions and finishing in the top four in 14 of the 20 races.

After several years karting in his homeland, Queen made his single-seater debut in the BRSCC National Formula Ford 1600 Championship in 2021, finishing eighth in the standings with Low Dempsey Racing. He was then runner-up last year with the team under its new name of Ammonite Motorsport, taking four race wins and the Triple Crown.

Queen went on to win a shootout between the top three teenagers from the series, earning him a £20,000 prize towards his GB4 drive in 2023.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Fortec family once again and am looking to build on the strong foundation we have built together for the 2024 season, “said Queen. “After concluding the GB4 season on a high note, I participated in two test days with the team in the GB3 car. I know with hard work and consistently bringing our A-game to every race, we can position ourselves to compete for wins and podium finishes.”

Fortec recently announced that GB3 sophomore Edward Pearson will remain with the team in 2024.

“We’re ecstatic to be able to announce that Colin is stepping up to the GB3 Championship with us for the 2024 season,” said team principal Oliver Dutton. “He was fantastic this season, moving into GB4 from Formula Ford, and was unlucky not to score wins.”

“After such a consistently strong campaign fighting at the front of the field, I know he will make the next step up to GB3 seem effortless. I can’t wait to see how he performs over the next 12 months and beyond, so we’ll be working hard all winter to be ready for the start of the season.”
