Championship leader Stefano Coletti yet again emerged triumphant in a reverse-grid race, this time taking the win at Monte Carlo from third on the grid.

Poleman Adrian Quaife-Hobbs made a quick getaway from the line but didn’t manage to keep first for long, letting the Monegasque through. He had an excellent drive after that, keeping up with Coletti and holding off the other drivers to take his first GP2 podium.

GP3 champion Mitch Evans was rewarded with third for another fine drive, completing a double-podium weekend. Second-year drivers Felipe Nasr and James Calado followed behind, looking for a way past the Kiwi but unable to do so on the tight street circuit.

Front row starter Rene Binder held sixth after a poor getaway from the start, with Kevin Ceccon and Stephane Richelmi rounding out the points. The only two drivers not to finish on the lead lap were Russian Time’s Sam Bird and Tom Dillmann, who both seemed to experience mechanical difficulties with the car.
