Campos announces Boya, Goethe and Montoya for FIA F3 tests

by Ida Wood

Campos Racing has named Mari Boya, Oliver Goethe and Sebastian Montoya as its line-up for FIA Formula 3’s upcoming post-season tests.

All three raced in the championship this year, with Boya at MP Motorsport, Goethe at Trident and Montoya at Hitech GP.

Goethe was the highest placed of the trio in the standings, coming eighth in the points with a win, a pole and a fastest lap. He already had a healthy amount of F3-level experience, having won the Euroformula title and contested two FIA F3 rounds in 2022.

“After the break, I’m very excited to be back on track in the Campos Racing F3 car for the post-season tests, I already know the team from last year and it’s a pleasure working with them,” said Goethe.

Montoya stepped up to F3 from Formula Regional, where he had claimed two podiums in the Asian championship. He came 16th in the standings in his rookie F3 season, with a second place being his best result. Like Goethe, he made an F3 cameo with Campos in 2022.

“I’m really excited to be back with Campos Racing for post-season testing. We worked together at Zandvoort last year completing a very successful weekend,” said Montoya. “Hopefully we can have the same speed that we had last year or even more. I enjoyed the experience at Zandvoort working with such a nice team. I hope we will get good fun and learning experience.”

Boya started his year by winning races in FRegional Middle East, and is currently fighting for the title in the FRegional-based Eurocup-3 series. In F3 he got one podium en route to 17th in the standings.

“I’m looking forward to starting the post-season testing,” commented Boya. “We have already spent some days working on the simulator and I felt quite comfortable with it. I have already had the chance to compete earlier this year in Jerez, which is one of my favorite ones as I clinched my maiden Formula 4 win there. I’m feeling super motivated to drive the F3 car again.”
