Cameron Das will spend a second season in Euroformula Open with Fortec Motorsports after his planned Formula European Masters move was halted by the series’ cancellation.
Fortec had already brought across Calan Williams from its FEM line-up, after after he had spent last season in EF Open with the team. Das is aiming for the title this season, after finishing fifth in the standings last year with Carlin. He made his debut the year before, finishing 15th in a half-season.
?During the Fortec winter development program we made tremendous progress as a team,” said Das.
“Throughout the program we improved the car, and I learned how to best adapt my driving style to the Dallara F312.
?The new engine and weight rules in Euroformula Open are extremely interesting, and it quickly became clear why it?s important to partner with someone like Fortec?s chief engineer, Mick Kouros. His knowledge and experience with the F3 car is second to none.?
Fortec team principal Richard Dutton added:??We are very excited to have Cam join the Fortec family. We have been closely following his progress, and we are sure that by joining our development program, he will be able to maximise his learning and contend for the Euroformula title.”
The team is also believed to have a third car ready to run were a driver to arrive with budget, while Das’s arrival brings the EF Open grid up to 15 cars.
