Martinius Stenshorne will start his first race in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine from pole position after several drivers had qualifying times deleted at Imola.

Rafael Camara was one of five drivers to have their fastest times removed for yellow flag infringements.

Stenshorne is therefore promoted to fastest in the first group and, courtesy of setting a faster time than Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s best in the second group, earns pole position for the first race of the weekend.

Camara’s second best time was, however, still good enough for second in the group, and he will line up third on the grid.

In the closing stages of qualifying Lorenzo Fluxa spun into the gravel at the entry to Tamburello, bringing out single waved yellow flags. The stewards adjudged that Prema’s Camara, along with Alessandro Giusti and Oleksandr Partyshev, had failed to slow down sufficiently.

Maya Weug was also cleared of any infringement following a review of the onboard camera and data analysis.

In addition, MP Motorsport duo Victor Bernier and Sami Meguetounif also had their best times deleted for the same offence, follwoing Giovanni Maschio’s spin further round the same corner.
