Harry Burgoyne Jr resisted late pressure from Lucas Blakeley to lead home a KMR Sport one-two in GB4’s reversed-grid race at Donington Park.

The result sealed the teams’ title for KMR for the third year in a row.

Having lined up from fourth on the grid, Burgoyne made a great launch and squeezed in between front row starters Dan Hickey (Fortec Motorsports) and Megan Bruce (Fox Motorsport) to lead into Redgate.

Bruce ran wide at Old Hairpin and tumbled down the order, as did Graham Brunton Racing’s Callum Baxter after a trip through the gravel at the same corner.

Blakeley charged up the order from eighth to grab second into Fogarty from Hickey before the first lap was completed. He found himself over two seconds behind Burgoyne in the early stages, then trimmed the gap to less than a second in the race’s second half, but was unable to find a way past his team-mate before the finish.

Fellow KMR racer Chloe Grant held off Elite Motorsport’s Alisha Palmowski, who had made swift progress from ninth, in the early laps. Palmowski eventually got past into Fogarty, and by the time she had caught and dispatched Hickey for third she was over nine seconds behind the front two.

Her team-mate Finn Harrison climbed from the back of the grid to fifth ahead of Grant, but a track limits penalty shuffled him back to 13th.

Fortec’s Linus Granfors gained four places to sixth, and the Swede holds a 35-point lead over Palmowski heading to the final round at Brands Hatch, with Burgoyne a further two points behind.

Fox’s Branden Templeton was seventh ahead of Elite’s Nicklas Ellis, while Arden’s Leon Wilson was promoted to ninth due to Baxter also receiving a track limits penalty.
