MP Motorsport’s line-up for the new Eurocup-3 series has grown to four cars with the addition of Bruno del Pino.

The 16-year-old Spaniard represented his country in last year’s Motorsport Games Formula 4 Cup at Paul Ricard, coming 11th in qualifying, fifth in the Qualification Race and then third in the medal-awarding Main Race.

He also spent 2022 racing in the Spanish F4 championship for Drivex School, a team co-founded by his uncle Pedro de la Rosa, and he came 16th in the standings with sixth place being his highest finish.

“I am happy to enter my 2023 season knowing that I am a Eurocup-3 driver for MP Motorsport,” said del Pino.

“Eurocup-3 is the perfect step on the talent ladder for me. MP Motorsport is also one of the top teams in formula cars, with every opportunity to climb further. I am really looking forward to going into the season full steam ahead.”

Tatuus’s Formula Regional chassis will form the basis of Eurocup-3, although the series will use an aerodynamic bodykit and a tuned engine to boost performance compared to FRegional series.

Spanish F4 teams Campos Racing and MP were two of the founding teams behind the series, and each has now signed four drivers. Drivex is the only other team to have signed a driver.

“It is great news that we have Bruno on board for our Eurocup-3 team,” said MP’s team manager Sander Dorsman.

“Last year he showed that he was a worthy opponent in the Spanish F4 championship. His raw talent immediately stood out. That is why we are pleased that we can now offer him a contract for our first campaign in the new Eurocup-3 class.

“Together with [team-mates] Sebastian Gravlund, Sebastian Ogaard and Joss Garfias, Bruno will form a strong team that will fight for the points every weekend, I am convinced of that.”
