British F4 rookie cup winner Martin Molnar returns with Virtuosi

Martin Molnar will remain with Virtuosi Racing for his second season in British Formula 4, after winning its rookie cup in 2024.

The 16-year-old averaged little over a point per race in the first half of last season, but then upped his game to take five podiums and climb from 18th to eighth in the standings with a final tally of 117.5 points. He also topped the separate classification for car racing newcomers, 11 points ahead of Mercedes junior driver Yuanpu Cui.

Molnar won the South Garda Winter Cup and was WSK Champions Cup runner-up on OK karts in 2023 and was a finalist in the Richard Mille Young Talent Academy shootout. In 2022 he was Trofeo delle Industrie runner-up, eighth in the CIK-FIA World championship and 21st in the European championship for OK Junior karts.

“I’m really happy to continue with Virtuosi Racing this year, and I’m excited to be racing again in such a prestigious championship as the British F4,” said the Hungarian.

“I’m looking forward to benefiting from the fact that I already know the team, the series, the car, and the tracks. We won’t have to go through the team integration phase again this year, so we can start at a higher level and fight for victories from the first race. I’m approaching the year with a lot of optimism.”

Before returning to the British F4 paddock, Molnar will race for Evans GP in F4 Middle East. His car will be supported by Virtuosi personnel.

Virtuosi’s team principal Mark Salmon said he was “thrilled” to retain Molnar for a second season.

“After a successful rookie season in which he secured the rookie title, we’re looking forward to fighting for the championship this year,” he commented.

“We will continue to work closely with Martin, pushing him to achieve his goals and develop further as a driver. Having Martin return as a second-year driver will bring invaluable experience and knowledge to the entire team. We are confident that his presence will positively impact the team’s development, and we are excited for what the season ahead will bring.”
