The first driver on the 2024 British Formula 4 grid has been revealed, with Argenti Motorsport signing rookie Rowan Campbell-Pilling.
The 16-year-old from Sheffield has been karting in the Daniel Ricciardo Series, winning the DRS100 junior title in 2021 and races in the senior DRS125 class this year, and has also claimed titles in IAME X30 Junior.
He has been testing the previous generation of British F4 car at several circuits this year as a part of Arden’s Young Racing Driver Academy, and took part in the post-season test at Snetterton with Argenti last week.
“I’m really excited to be joining the British F4 grid for 2024 with Argenti Motorsport,” he said. “They have been fantastic in helping me adapt to the new F4 car.
“Testing has been positive. I’m looking forward to competing against some familiar faces from karting and indeed good friends whilst racing on some of the UK’s most iconic circuits and I can’t wait to get started now.”
Campbell-Pilling tested alongside Mercedes Formula 1 junior and long-time Argenti driver Yuanpu Cui in the Snetterton test.
Argenti boss Michael Meadows added: “It’s great to welcome Rowan to the team. In a short time working with him, we have already seen that he has a lot of talent and potential.
“Helping the drivers transition from karting to F4 is always an exciting prospect and we look forward to furthering his development with a good test program in place to be ready for 2024.”
