Marvin Kirchhofer emerged as the winner in the third race of the German F3 round at Oschersleben, managing to convert another pole position into the top podium spot, albeit not without some difficulties.
The German gave up the lead to his teammate, Artem Markelov, on lap one, but managed to get it back after five more laps. It was smooth sailing from there, as Kirchhofer ended up crossing the line almost five seconds ahead of his Russian stablemate. Emil Bernstorff completed a Lotus 1-2-3 with his maiden podium in the series.
Performance Racing drivers took the next two spots, with John Bryant-Meisner leading Thomas Jager. Gustavo Menezes completed a strong weekend showing in sixth, finishing ahead of seventh-placed Aston Hare, who scored his first points in the series.
Sebastian Balthasar was eighth, the highest-placed driver in the Trophy class – with his teammate Freddy Killensberger taking tenth. Inbetween them was Hare’s teammate, Nabil Jeffri.
A spectacular maiden weekend from Kirchhofer means he leads the series with 62 points, with his closest rival Markelov at 46 after three second-place finishes.
