Idola Motorsport will make its GB4 debut this weekend at Donington Park with Polish car racing rookie Alexander Mizera.

Mizera has been part of Arden’s Young Racing Driver Academy for the past three years, spent this season GB4 testing with Idola and has also sampled the series’ 2025 car.

He was sixth quickest in last week’s test day at Donington ahead of what will be his first car racing starts.

Idola is a relatively new team which started out in the one-make sportscar series Praga Cup, where it claimed the 2022 title with simulator racing star Jimmy Broadbent and Gordie Mutch.  It expanded into other British club racing series in 2023 and at the end of the year announced its intention to join GB4 after purchasing a Tatuus F4-T014 chassis.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at Donington this weekend,” said Mizera. “It’s a great circuit where I’ll be able to take part in my first race in cars.

“Throughout the season we have improved in pace at testing events and the next thing of course is racing. I’m very excited to have this opportunity, and happy to continue working with Idola, Arden and the YRDA who have made this possible. We are looking forward to continuing our progress.”

He is the second driver to join the GB4 grid at Donington, with Nickolas Ellis making the step up from Ginetta Junior with Elite Motorsport. Formula 1 Esports champion Lucas Blakeley has also confirmed he will continue with KMR Sport, having won twice across the previous two rounds.

“Alexander has shown great progression and maturity during Idola’s ongoing testing and coaching program in partnership with Arden and the YRDA, considering he had never turned a wheel in a single seater prior to testing with the team,” said Idola’s owner John Whatley,

“The next step in his pathway is to develop his racecraft utilising the final rounds of this season, with the aim to have him as best prepared as possible for the 2025 season. We are excited to support him for the final rounds and hopeful that he will have a beneficial experience and good results.”
