R-ace GP has kept on Victor Bernier in its ADAC Formula 4 line-up for this year, after the Frenchman won twice in 2020.
Now 16, Bernier first raced in F4 when he was 14 years old in the French championship. He claimed one overall win as well as the Junior class title, then moved on to ADAC F4 last year and came fifth in the points as well as making an Italian F4 cameo.
Bernier moved into single-seaters as one of the hottest talents in karting, having won the CIK-FIA World Karting Championship for OK Junior karts and the French championship for Rotax Max karts in 2018.
“I’m still with the team R-ace GP. One goal, to win the title. Driver and team 100% motivated,” Bernier said on social media.
His team-mates will be 2020 French F4 race-winner Sami Meguetounif and karting graduates Marcus Amand and Marcos Flack, who are two of only three drivers currently signed up who are eligible for ADAC F4’s rookie classification this year.
French-Finnish talent Amand has already been confirmed as making select appearances in Italian F4 in addition to his campaign in the German championship, while Australian youngster Flack is running part-time in Germany and Italy as he also focuses on a full British F4 campaign with Argenti Motorsport through his first year in car racing.
During the winter another French karter, Franck Chappard, has tested extensively with R-ace GP but is yet to announce whether he will remain in karts or step up into single-seaters this year, and Bernier has made no mention on if his 2021 programme will include Italian F4.
