Ferrari Driver Academy youngster Antonio Fuoco took a maiden win in the feature race of the last round of the Panam GP Winter Series at Palm Beach, with Alfonso Celis also securing his first win in the second race. With points leader Sebastian Merchan absent, two podium finishes were enough for Rodolfo Camarillo to secure the winter series title.
Starting the first race from pole, Fuoco ran away from fellow front-row starter Camarillo early on and never looked back, taking an easy win. Jorge Bas took third ahead of NEC-bound Celis and ex-Auto GP racer Antonio Spavone.
Sebastian Ordonez, who finished eighth in race one, started the second race from pole and led all the way until the checkered flag. However, with his car found to be underweight, he was disqualified from the race, giving Celis a maiden win. Behind the Mexican, Fuoco overtook Spavone and Camarillo on his way to second place, with the ex-Auto GP man being penalized for agressive defending. Camarillo rounded out the podium.
With 60 points after four races, Camarillo took the Winter Series title. Fuoco and Celis finished second and third, with the winner of the first two races Merchan in fourth place. Bas and Spavone rounded out the series top six.
