James Roe Jr will remain at Andretti Global in 2025 as he embarks on a fourth season in Indy Nxt.
The 26-year-old Irishman debuted in 2022 with TJ Speed, with two seventh places his best results from the first nine races before he switched to a car co-entered by Dale Coyne Racing and HMD Motorsports. That partnership lasted two races, and he came 12th in the standings.
Roe has been with Andretti since then, and in 2023 he was runner-up on Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s road course and took three other top-five finishes to improve to seventh in the standings with 335 points.
This year was slightly less successful in points scored, but he made the podium at Barber Motorsports Park, finished second from pole at Iowa Speedway and rose one spot further in the points table.
“My partners and I are thrilled to return to Andretti,” Roe said. “We enjoyed great moments of success together this past season, and our 2025 goal is to make Andretti back-to-back Indy Nxt champions.”
Earlier in his career, Roe was a race-winner in F2000 Championship Series, Formula Regional Americas and USF Pro 2000.
“James has been a key part of the success our Indy Nxt team has had over the past few seasons, and we’re thankful that he’ll call Andretti his home for the 2025 season,” said Andretti Global’s president J-F Thormann.
“The step up into Indy Nxt can be a difficult one, and James is proving that committing to the development process and being patient does pay off. His consistency and tenacity were on full display in 2024, and we’re all looking forward to watching him continue to progress and succeed as a driver in the upcoming season.”
Andretti now has three drivers signed for 2025, with Roe partnering Salvador de Alba and Lochie Hughes.
