F1 Academy race winner Chloe Chambers has attracted the backing of Red Bull and its future engine partner Ford for 2025.
Chambers joined the F1 Academy grid this year with the Haas Formula 1 team supporting her Campos Racing entry. She lies fourth in the standings with two rounds to go as one of only three drivers to have tasted victory, having won race two at Barcelona.
She previously raced in United States Formula 4 in 2021, W Series in 2022 and then the Formula Regional Oceania Championship at the start of 2023.
Red Bull has supported three drivers in F1 Academy this year with a dedicated programme for women separate to its Junior Team. All three have driven for MP Motorsport, with sisters Hamda and Amna Al Qubaisi in the liveries of Red Bull Racing and sister squad RB and Emely De Heus driving a car co-sponsored by Ford.
None of the trio will be allowed to return for a third year in the series next year, with Chambers to effectively replace De Heus in the Ford-backed car – although it is not yet clear which team will operate her entry.
“Everyone at the team is looking forward to welcoming Chloe to the Red Bull family where she is a key part of our line-up for the 2025 F1 Academy season,” said Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner. “Welcoming an American driver that has previously been linked to Ford marks an exciting progression in our partnership with Ford Performance.”
Chambers has also previously raced in the Porsche Sprint Challenge in North America and contested the first round of this year’s IMSA Ford Mustang Challenge – a series she will return to at Indianapolis this weekend for her first appearance with Red Bull and Ford backing.
“I am excited to take part in the Ford Mustang Challenge this week and to have more opportunities to race outside of my role in F1 Academy,” Chambers said. “My focus for the rest of the year remains on delivering performance with Haas, but I’m looking forward to the next chapter in 2025 with the Red Bull Ford Academy Programme.”
