Myles Rowe has secured his place on the Indy Nxt grid for 2025, and will switch from HMD Motorsports to Abel Motorsports.
The 24-year-old stepped up to IndyCar’s primary feeder series this year thanks to three major backers. The first was Andersen Promotions, which provided the $640,000 scholarship he received for winning the 2023 USF Pro 2000 title.
Also involved was the Penske Entertainment-supported and African American-led Force Indy programme. Founded by Rob Reid, it focuses on hiring black men and women from America and developing them in team roles in motorsport. It has supported Rowe’s career since 2021, and will continue to brand his car in 2025.
Another ongoing supporter is two-time IndyCar champion Will Power, who has taken Rowe under his wing as his protege.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the Abel Motorsports family with Force Indy for the 2025 season,” said Rowe.
“Abel has not only shown great skill, but they have a great deal of respect among the IndyCar community. It’s a privilege to represent them and Force Indy on this journey. I want to thank HMD Motorsports and Henry Malukas for giving me a good start at this level of racing.”
In his rookie Indy Nxt campaign, Rowe came 11th in the standings with two top-five finishes.
“When we first heard about the opportunity to bring Myles and Force Indy onboard, we were immensely excited,” team owner Bill Abel said.
“John [Brunner, team manager] and I have been watching Myles for a number of years, and to see his progression as a driver has been remarkable and something that we knew we wanted to be a part of.
“Not only do we look for competitive drivers on track, but we look for the right personality and off-track presence that will represent us well. Myles absolutely checks that box for us, too, so excited for 2025 is an understatement.”
