French Formula 4 race-winner Garrett Berry will step up to Eurocup-3 with Palou Motorsport for his second full year in single-seater racing.
The 20-year-old American did ‘arrive and drive’ Club 100 karting in Britain before making his car racing debut in the final French F4 round of 2022. He then received the support of Winfield Racing School to compete in the series full-time in 2023.
Berry’s first top-five finish came in the eighth race of the campaign, as he won the crash-disrupted reversed-grid race in Pau. His other podium visits were also in reversed-grid races, winning at Misano, finishing second at Paul Ricard and third at Spa-Francorchamps. The trip to Spa also included a fifth place in race three, his best result in a race with a conventionally set grid.
“I’m very excited to become a part of the Palou Motorsport team for the 2024 Eurocup-3 championship,” said Berry, who ended his rookie single-seater campaign sixth in the standings.
“During winter testing I have felt a great chemistry with the team and I have been pleased with my development in the car. I believe the knowledge and experience provided by the team and my team-mates will allow us to achieve the most out of the 2024 season. It will personally be a privilege to race under the Palou Motorsport name this year and I believe we will achieve amazing results together.”
Berry will be team-mate to fellow F4 graduates Theodor Jensen and Luciano Morano.
“We are very happy to have Garrett as a driver for the upcoming 2024 Eurocup-3 season, with his incorporation, we continue to strengthen our line-up,” said Palou Motorsport’s team principal Ramon Palou.
Team co-owner and IndyCar champion Alex Palou added: “We’re convinced that with the proper help Garrett will be able to show his best version [on track].”
