Patrick Heuzenroeder will race full-time in GB3 this year with JHR Developments after contesting the last two rounds of the 2023 season and reaching the podium.

The 17-year-old Australian started out karting in his homeland in 2022 participated in the Ferrari Driver Academy’s Asia-Pacific scouting camp as well as racing in New South Wales Formula Ford where he was a title contender before ending his season early to take part in a British Formula 4 test with Argenti Motorsport.

He joined the team for a Formula Winter Series round at the start of 2023 then raced in British F4 where he came 19th in the standings with one podium. Following that he stepped up to GB3 with Elite Motorsport and finished third in the season-closing reversed-grid race at Donington Park.

“I’m very pleased to be joining JHR Developments for the 2024 GB3 championship,” said Heuzenroeder.

“We worked extremely hard in winter testing, and I really enjoyed being in and around the team. They have a wealth of experience and are a great bunch who seem to understand my Aussie sense of humour. We worked well together from the first day.

“After such a competitive testing programme I feel really confident JHR is a great fit for me, and I was grateful to be rewarded with a seat with the outfit which won the 2023 GB3 championship teams’ title. I can’t wait to get the season underway in late March.”

JHR’s team principal Steve Hunter said Heuzenroeder “has developed quickly as a young driver since moving to the UK and showed how much he has learned with his performances at the end of his season in tricky circumstances” and that “we’re excited to help his progress and see what he can achieve throughout the year”.
