German driver Sven Muller will switch to Dutch squad Van Amersfoort Racing for the remainder of the 2013 European F3 season, taking over the team’s second car alongside Dennis van de Laar.

Muller, 21, has partaken in all seven rounds of the current European F3 season so far with the German squad ma-con, scoring 71 points and a best finish of fourth, which allows him to occupy tenth place in the standings.

However, the ADAC Formel Masters graduate had every right to expect more from his second season in the category, after he became a race winner in the F3 Euro Series with Prema Powerteam last year on his way to sixth in the standings.

Muller will occupy the Van Amersfoort Racing seat that became vacant after Mans Grenhagen left the team following the Spielberg round. The best finish of the year for the Dutch squad was recorded by van de Laar, who achieved sixth in the second race of the Hockenheim round.
