Chris Dittmann Racing has confirmed Zak Taylor as its second signing for the 2023 GB3 season.

Taylor was 13th in Ginetta Junior in 2020 and scored one win and four further podium finishes en-route to 13th in British Formula 4 with Arden in 2021.

Last year the 20-year-old made the step up to GB3, spending the first six rounds with Fortec Motorsports before switching to CDR for the final two events, finishing 18th in the standings with a best result of fourth at Brands Hatch.

“I’m very excited to see what this season holds,” said Taylor. “I competed with the team for the final two rounds of the GB3 championship last year, and the car was mega, everyone was great to work with, and the results spoke for themselves.

“Those two rounds I did with CDR were miles better than the rest of the season I had, and it definitely highlighted my strengths, as well as the team’s, so I think we’re a great match. We have been in close contact with Chris over the winter, and I’ve been going in to practice on the simulator every week.

“I didn’t look anywhere else, I only wanted to race with Chris, so I’m really excited to have finally signed for a full campaign this year. The aim for this season is to do some pot hunting. Last season we were quick, and we’re only going to get better. We all work together really well and know each other’s strengths, so I definitely think we have the potential to be in the fight.”

Taylor will partner French karting graduate Arthur Rogeon at CDR, and took part in last week’s test at Silversone with the team.

“We’re really pleased to have Zak with us for a full season, after he showed great potential in the rounds he did with us last year,” added CDR team owner Chris Dittmann.

“We’re happy that we were able to provide an environment where he could thrive after he had a bit of a disappointing year up until that point. He showed vast improvements after joining the team so we’re excited for what we can achieve together this year.”
