Yevan David is the second Euroformula title contender to announce a GB3 cameo this weekend at Silverstone, where he will race with Xcel Motorsport.
The 17-year-old Sri Lankan made his single-seater debut in Formula 4 United Arab Emirates in 2024, coming 26th overall, and then went on to finish 19th in Spanish F4 and 11th in the Motorsport Games F4 event at Valencia. He also scored points upon stepping up to Eurocup-3.
David has achieved far more success since switching to Euroformula, winning twice on his debut during last year’s season finale at Monza, and he has taken another four victories in 2025 to currently sit second in the standings.
“I am really excited to be joining Xcel Motorsport for round five of the GB3 championship this weekend, “he said. “It’s a competitive field, and I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can, building a strong relationship with the team, and showing what I’m capable of on track.”
He will be the fourth driver making his GB3 bow at Silverstone, joining Rodrigo and Patricio Gonzalez as well as Nicolas Stati. Michael Shin, who is currently one place behind David in Euroformula, is also making a cameo return with Hillspeed.
“We’re really excited to welcome Yevan to the team for Silverstone,” added Xcel team manager Gary Bonnor.
“He’s proven himself to be a top talent in Euroformula this season, and we’re confident his experience and pace will translate well into the GB3 championship. Silverstone is a demanding circuit, but we’re looking forward to seeing what he can achieve with us this weekend.”
