USF Juniors runner-up Liam McNeilly will remain with Jay Howard Driver Development for the step up to USF2000 this year.

The 18-year-old from England took five wins, three other podiums and five poles in the IndyCar support series last season, taking the title fight to the penultimate race as he won all three races of the Portland finale.

That was his fifth year in car racing but second in single-seaters, having spent three years with Fox Motorsport in the entry-level Ginetta Junior sportscar series – winning seven races and coming second and then third in the standings – before stepping up to the Formula 4-spec GB4 series with the team and claiming two victories en route to third in the points table.

“I’m really pleased to be back with JHDD for the 2025 USF2000 season,” said McNeilly. “We had a very successful season in USF Juniors, and I’ll be looking to build on that as I take the next step into USF2000. A big thank you to Jay [and everyone that has made this possible.”

Team boss Jay Howard added: “Liam did a mega job last year; he dominated USF Juniors and was always the guy everyone was chasing. With his debut year under his belt, keeping that continuity by returning with us, we are all very motivated. Year two should be even stronger. I’m super excited for 2025, and I have high expectations.”

McNeilly is the team’s fourth signing, and will be team-mate to Timothy Carel, Brad Majman and Anthony Martella.
