Turn 3 Motorsport has made its second signing for the 2023 USF Pro 2000 season, bringing in Jackson Lee.
The 20-year-old raced in wingless cars when he debuted in single-seaters in 2019, and his first year revolved mostly around a Lucas Oil Formula Car Race Series campaign in which he took two wins and came fourth in the points.
He also raced in F1600 Championship Series that year, where he returned in 2020 and took another two wins and fourth in the standings in a part-time campaign. Lee then won the backing of the Team USA Scholarship, which led to him heading to the United Kingdom at the end of the year to race in Formula Ford 1600.
In the FFord Festival he finished 10th, and Lee reached the final of the Walter Hayes Trophy.
For 2021 he moved into the winged cars of USF2000, and spent his rookie season with Jay Howard Driver Development. He came 18th in the standings after missing a round, then last year he missed two events having moved to Cape Motorsports. His end position in the championship was 15th, with a best finish of seventh.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be back in the race car and to move up to the USFP2000 level with Turn 3 Motorsport,” said Lee.
“I raced for Peter Dempsey’s dad Cliff with the Team USA Scholarship program in the UK, and I can already tell from pre-season testing that I’m going to work well with [team boss] Peter and the team. I’m excited to see what we can achieve together and look forward to a strong season.”
