Suleiman Zanfari is stepping up to the new Eurocup-3 series with Campos Racing, after three years racing in Formula 4.

The 17-year-old Moroccan raced in junior karts for three years, winning the Swedish championship and coming fourth in the Italian championship, before stepping into cars in 2019 with six races in Ginetta Junior. He took a best finish of 13th.

He then debuted in single-seaters in 2020, joining Global Racing Service in Spanish F4 and coming 17th in the standings. Moving to MP Motorsport for 2021 resulted in an improved 11th place, and he finished two races in the top five.

Last year he remained with the Dutch team to contest F4 United Arab Emirates, where he was 17th in the points table, and then Spanish F4 where he made the podium once and came seventh in the standings despite missing the final two rounds for medical reasons.

“I started my motorsport adventure at the age of 10 with the Campos Academy in 2015,” said Zanfari. “I still remember the talks with Adrian Campos Sr in Alzira. He gave me great advice to face my participation in single-seaters.

“It is an honor to compete with Campos Racing, who I consider my family, and I want to thank Adrian [Campos Jr] and Andreu [Romera] for the opportunity. Let’s go all out.”

Zanfari is Campos’s third signing for the Formula Regional-based Eurocup-3 series, alongside Francesco Braschi and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak.

Campos’s team principal Adrian Campos Jr commented: “We are very happy to have Suleiman in our Eurocup-3 team. He is a pilot that we consider to be from the house since we have been working with him for many years through the Campos Academy.

“Suleiman is an enormously talented driver who we are sure will do very well in a championship as competitive and difficult as this one promises to be. For our part, we will continue to help you in everything to achieve the best possible results together. Likewise, we want to thank his manager Marco Cioci for the trust placed in us so that Suleiman can take the next step forward in his sports career.”
