Campos Racing has signed Red Bull juniors Isack Hadjar and Pepe Marti for the 2024 Formula 2 season.
Hadjar is the more experienced of the two, with the 19-year-old having contested his rookie F2 campaign this year and come 14th in the standings with one podium while driving for Hitech GP. Last year he was fourth in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
“I’m really looking forward to start working with the team, I now have experience in the FIA F2 championship and with Campos Racing’s potential and capabilities, we will reach the top,” said Hadjar.
Marti, who only joined Red Bull’s junior ranks less than three months ago, came third in Spanish Formula 4 in 2021, was Formula Regional Asian Championship runner-up in 2022 and fifth in FIA F3 this year.
His Spanish F4 seasons and two F3 campaigns were both spent with Campos, so he is familiar with the Spanish team. His first F2 mileage will come in this week’s post-season test at Yas Marina Circuit.
“It’s a dream come true to jump into a F2, it’s another step in my journey and learning to reach Formula 1 in the future,” said Marti.
“As well with Campos Racing, the team which I’ve been with through all my single-seater career, it’s a very special opportunity to test here at Abu Dhabi and I’m looking forward to learning quickly and enjoying every lap. Thanks to the team, my parents and the Red Bull Junior Team for making it happen.”
Campos’s team principal Adrian Campos Jr commented: “We are proud to have a driver line-up consisting of two Red Bull junior drivers for the 2024 FIA Formula 2 season. Isack and Pepe are two very young pilots but their skills and talent allow them to make rapid progress in every category. It will be a huge pleasure to work together and we will give our maximum to achieve the best possible results. I have no doubts that 2024 promises to be an exciting season for Campos Racing.”
