Rashid Al Dhaheri stays with Prema for second year in F4

by Ida Wood

Rashid Al Dhaheri will stay with Prema for his second year racing in Formula 4.

The Emirati graduated from karting in 2023 and joined Prema to compete in the ACI Sport-organised Italian F4 and Euro 4 championships. In the former he came 10th in the standings with two fourth places being his best results, and in the latter he was 12th in the points table with a best finish of sixth.

He also contested two F4 South East Asia rounds with Prema. The first was the non-championship round in Macau, where he finished fourth and third in the two races, then in the Sepang season finale he claimed his first F4 win and a fastest lap, putting him 15th in the standings.

This year he will do full campaigns in Italian F4 and Euro 4, with no mention of a F4 United Arab Emirates programme in Prema’s announcement.

“I am very happy to join Prema Racing next season in F4,” said Al Dhaheri.

“We have set the ground work last year where I have learnt a lot from the entire team. So, I am really excited to continue our work and look forward to the racing season to restart soon.”

Prema team principal Angelo Rosin commented: “Rashid had a challenging 2023 season. He entered the most competitive F4 series to face some experienced competitors. Still, he showed impressive form, improving race by race and claiming increasingly positive results. We look forward to taking a few more steps together in the pre-season preparations to be top contenders throughout 2024.”
