MP Motorsport has announced that Oliver Goethe will remain in its Formula 2 line-up for 2026.
The 21-year-old Danish-German driver joined MP to make his F2 debut last year at round 11 of the season, and in the eight races he contested he scored twice — including a fourth place in the Losail feature race — and came 23rd in the standings.
He then stayed with MP for his first full F2 campaign this year, and ahead of this weekend’s season finale sits 17th in the standings with only nine more points than he scored in 2024 and with two fourth places in sprint races being his best results.
“I’m truly delighted to stay with MP Motorsport for my second year in F2,” said Goethe. “Over the years, the team has become a second home away from home for me, and through all the adversity our bond has only grown stronger this year.
“Now having experienced a full season of F2, my plan is to capitalise on all the knowledge that I’ve gained over the year and build on that with the experienced engineering crew at MP. First I’m aiming to give this season the best possible finish, and then it’s full speed ahead to 2026!”
The highlight of Goethe’s 2025 season was topping qualifying last time out at Losail, but penalties meant he started down the order for both races.
He previously raced for MP in Spanish Formula 4, Formula Regional European Championship and then in the 2024 Macau Grand Prix, which he was runner-up in.
“We’re all very happy that Ollie has decided to join us for another season in F2”, MP’s team principal Sander Dorsman said.
“It’s been a true delight working with him, and the fact that we know each other through and through will only be an additional benefit going into 2026. Ollie scored some good points this year, but on several occasions fate agonisingly decided otherwise.
“Next season’s F2 championship will be as fiercely competitive as ever, but we will start 2026 prepared to the teeth, with the aim of forcing luck to fall our way.”
