Nico Christodoulou will race in USF2000 full-time this season, four years on from when he debuted in the series.
The Canadian, who is still only 18 years old, contested two rounds in 2020 and had a best finish of 11th. He returned to USF2000 last year for his home round in Toronto, finishing fifth in race one and winning race two.
Christodoulou’s primary focus from 2018 to 2021 was Formula 4. He spent two seasons in the NACAM championship, coming second in the 2019-20 season, then he took three wins from two seasons in United States F4.
In 2022 he made a shortlived step up to Formula Regional Americas, taking two fourth places from his six races there, before relocating his career to Britain to race in GB3. Having missed the first two rounds, Christodoulou came 16th in the standings with Arden.
The team partnered up with Velocity Racing Development for 2023, and Christodoulou rose to eighth in the championship with three podiums. He made his USF2000 cameo with VRD, who he raced for in US F4 and FRegional Americas, and he will be with them once again for his 2024 campaign.
“I’m grateful to be a part of the VRD family for another racing season. Thanks to Dan [Mitchell, team boss] and my dad for making this all possible,” said Christodoulou.
“I’m excited for the 2024 USF2000 championship as we aim for the top step of the championship and nothing less. I’m looking forward to the first round in St. Petersburg, Florida, and can’t wait to start this championship.”
