A third driver announcement in two days by Motopark has brought the 2024 Euroformula grid up to four cars, with the team making Cenyu Han its latest signing.
So far Motopark is the only team to confirm its presence for this season, with all four of the drivers committed to the series driving for the German team.
“Euroformula is the ideal platform for Cenyu to pursue his racing career. We are looking forward to support him in the best possible way in order to enable him to fight for race wins,” said Motopark’s team principal Timo Rumpfkeil.
Han said he was “grateful to be back in a top team” and “will give everything, pushing to the limits with Motopark”.
The 19-year-old Chinese racer will be stepping up to the Formula 3-level championship after two years in Formula 4 and then two years in Formula Regional.
Han came 33rd in the 2020 Italian F4 season, and improved to 26th place in 2021 – with a best finish of sixth – despite missing the last two rounds. That year he also made two ADAC F4 outings, and a podium finish in one of those helped him come 13th in the standings.
In 2022, Han did half of the FRegional European Championship and failed to finished any higher than 28th in his nine races. He returned to action in FRegional Middle East at the start of 2023, and a 14th place was his best result. Eurocup-3 was next on his agenda, and he started the season on a high by finishing second in the opening race. But he withdrew from round two, only scored three points in round three and then left the series, which meant he sat 15th in the standings by season end.
