DEForce Racing’s Mac Clark went without opposition en route to victory in USF2000’s Freedom 75 race at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Clark started from pole ahead of Evagoras Papasavvas, and the pair immediately gapped themselves from the rest of the field as the sun set on the rolling start.

It did not take long for them to break away by several seconds, but the field was then compressed for a brief caution period after Danny Dyszelski stopped on the entry to the pitlane.

After the restart there was less of a challenge from Papasavvas and Clark’s focus instead switched to the traffic he was approaching to lap. He navigated it without issue, and was 3.7 seconds clear at the end of the 75-lap race.

Chase Gardner got close to Papasavvas in the final 20 laps, but then second place was secured for the latter as a charging Simon Sikes started battling Gardner. They spent several laps running side-by-side, with the battle ultimately decided towards the end when a lapped car got in the way of Gardner and Sikes on the inside took third place.

Sikes had started ninth, and gained two places before the early caution period. He took several laps of wheel-to-wheel battling with Lochie Hughes to take fifth, then in the second half of the race chased Nikita Johnson for fourth.

Eventually he found enough room on the inside to get past, then his later battle with Gardner led to the pair dropping back from Papasavvas by over seven seconds.

Johnson finished fifth, and Hughes led home Max Garcia and Al Morey. Garcia, who had looked fast all weekend, spent half of the race battling Elliot Cox and only managed to get past him in the final third of the race. Once he did, he closed in on Morey and passed him with far less fuss.5
