Lola Lovinfosse has joined Rodin Motorsport for her fourth year in Formula 4, which will be spent in the all-female F1 Academy series.
The 18-year-old spent 2021 and ’22 in Spanish F4, coming 27th in the standings in her rookie season with Drivex School then 37th in her part-time sophomore campaign as a Teo Martin Motorsport driver. She failed to score in both seasons, with her best result being a 13th place.
Last year the French racer moved to another Spanish team, Campos Racing, and scored four points in a Formula Winter Series outing before tackling the inaugural F1 Academy season. It took just two races to make the podium there, and two third places at Paul Ricard later in the year helped her to come 10th in the standings.
Lovinfosse said she is “ready to fight” and “super happy and proud” to join Rodin, which has taken over the team that used to be Carlin, and revealed she has already “worked a lot with the team” despite the relatively late announcement of her signing compared to others on the grid.
There are now three F1 Academy seats left to fill for 2024, with one each at ART Grand Prix, Campos and Rodin. Alpine junior Abbi Pulling will be one of Lovinfosse’s two team-mates.
Lovinfosse’s racing career is mentored by the Road to Success operation run by former Auto GP and Euroformula racer Facu Regalia. Before stepping up to single-seaters, she was a regular in European karting competitions and came 15th in the 2021 WSK Champions Cup for OK karts.
