Leonardo Foronaroli will remain at Trident for his second season in FIA Formula 3.

The 18-year-old Italian first joined the team in 2022 when he was part of its Formula Regional European Championship line-up and came eighth in the standings with four top-five finishes and a best result of fourth place.

His rookie FIA F3 Championship campaign this year was more impressive, despite coming 11th in the standings, as it took just four races to match his best FRegional result and he then made the podium in Monaco, at Barcelona and at Silverstone where he finished second in the feature race from pole position. He took fastest lap in the sprint race there too.

“I am obviously very excited to be staying with Trident Motorsport for another season. This team became like a family for me where I could find the highest culture of motorsport,” said Fornaroli.

“This is a great slot for me because Trident has shown many times that it is one of the best places for a young driver to be in FIA F3, and I intend to make the most of this opportunity while doing the best possible job for the team.”

Trident’s team manager Giacomo Ricci added: “We are delighted to confirm Leonardo in our FIA F3 line-up. For the Piacenza-born driver, it will be the third season with us and the confirmation of a positive collaboration that will have increasingly ambitious goals.

“In the past season, Fornaroli has been one of the best rookies of the series. He delivered a solid performance and consistent growth. The goal for him will be to raise the level and compete at the top of the series.”
