Daniil Kvyat‘s early benchmark lap in the GP3 practice session at Monza turned out good enough for the Russian to stay atop the timesheets until the end of the session.

The Russian took an early lead in the session, with Carlin’s Alexander Sims clocking in a lap good enough for second. However, the Briton would soon be demoted by Carlos Sainz, Jr. and the Red Bull duo remained atop the leaderboards for the rest of the run.

Sims took third, ahead of his Carlin teammate Nick Yelloly, with third Arden man Robert Visoiu rounding out the top five.

David Fumanelli took sixth place, with Lotus junior Alex Fontana clocking in in seventh. Bamboo drivers Lewis Williamson and Melville McKee were eighth and ninth respectively, while Giovanni Venturini rounded out the top ten.

Championship leader Facu Regalia was 12th, one spot behind his main rival Tio Ellinas.
