Elite Motorsport’s Alex Kattoulas was quickest on the second day of GB4’s pre-season test at Donington Park.

Kattoulas posted a best time of 1m28.211s in session one to eclipse the benchmark set by his team-mate Isaac Phelps on Wednesday by 0.084 seconds.

Graham Brunton Racing’s Mayer Deonarine was second quickest in Thursday’s opening session, albeit 0.456s behind Kattoulas, with Hillspeed’s Daniel Guinchard third.

Guinchard lowest his own testing personal best in session two to lead the way with a 1m28.730s. Elite trio Kattoulas, Aryaman Bansal and Phelps were close behind, as was Arden’s Leon Wilson who ended up fifth despite being within 0.1s of the pace.

After improving by a further 0.3s, Guinchard ended session three as the fastest once more with a 1m28.419s, and again it was extremely tight behind him. Douglas Motorsport’s Luke Hilton was 0.009s adrift, with Kattoulas third ahead of Bansal, with the top four separated by 0.063s.

Guinchard set another personal best in session four to finish quickest for the third time, his 1m28.370s leaving him 0.085s clear of Kattoulas and second in the day’s combined classification. Hilton edged Bansal to third in that session, and their session three bests also put in third and fourth respectively overall.

Deonarine’s session one time put him fifth ahead of Fortec Motorsports’ Thomas Ingram-Hill who made great strides on day two. Phelps was seventh ahead of Wilson, Fortec’s Jack Taylor and Douglas driver Dayton Coulthard.
